Story
This is the movie that combines lots of short love stories that occurred in New York.
In New York, where has many skyscrapers and is the metropolitan city, love can happened anywhere no matter love is short, eternal, accepted, or denied. There are 5 directors present this movie and they show us what their feelings toward New York city.

For example, one story is about a one night stand between two young adults. First, they recalled the memory of their relationship process and later they decide to find each other again in the bar that they first meet. In the end, they reunion and have a happy ending.

Another story is about the love between two races. A Jewish woman marries with a Indian man. The film depicts the different things between two cultures and the obstacles they need to face after marriage.

Also, there is a love that occurs through nowadays advanced technology. In the end, the leading female gives the guy a chance to show up herself and continue their love.
Except this, there is also a story about a man between a prostitute. The dialogue between this two person is bold and full of humor. The offensive and defensive method they use in the conversation will let you feel interested.

Reflection
I think this movie not only just describes the New York city, but also discover the life that happened inside. By presenting the real life instead of too much romantic plots, that’s the reason that this movie can strike many people’s chord.
Of all the stories, one that impressed a lot is the one-night stand plot. I think there are lot of emotion and crashes when I watched this. Maybe because I become a volunteer this year that I can know lots of foreigners more. I really think they are more bold than most of Asia’s people. One proverb they like to say is Life is too short. Therefore, they would not like to waste anytime to enjoy their life. Moreover, from my friend’s description, one night stand really happens commonly in their world. I’ve already know this long before but to see it is totally another thing. Even so, I don’t think I would chose this way to enjoy my life.
To conclude, I think this movie show us the life in modern society. Though you may not like all the plot, however, if one of them can let you have some feelings, this maybe a successful movie.

Through this movie, you can see a person who fights for his country, his family and his compatriot or the things that he thinks is right.

Reflection
After seeing this movie, I really think 葉問is a rare nice man that is hard to find in today’s society. He combines all the virtues of Chinese moral standard such as to love his family, be nice to your friend and be humble. Thought I don’t know exactly the true personality of this person, I really impress by those personalities that this leading male has.
One plot is about his wife ask his son to tell the leading male do not corrupt anything in the house ,and the 葉問 agree with this rule though he fights seriously with others. However, when these couple are in hard times, 葉問chose to do the job even though he never did before in order to make up some money to help his wife. I think his wife really chose a nice husband like this.
Moreover, even if 葉問 are good at martial art, he doesn’t like to show off. Instead, he learns how to protect himself and become more humble after learning the martial art. This is the point that many people need to learn that violence never helps a person to resolve the things.

Thus, lots of crashes and opportunities are created by this kind of surrounding. People want to be their host, but they couldn’t trust neither Chinese government nor English people.
Therefore, they put their hope to those who want to revolt the Chinese government. At the same time, they hear a notable people will come back to Hong Kong to plot the revolution after few days. Thus, those body guard need to think about the method to assure this big people’s safety, and find the foundation and people to support their plan. Then, the story begins when a rich man agree to invest his money into the plan, and 12times those body guard like to struggle before the big people finishes his plan.
Reflection
Though this is not the typical romance love story between two people, it’s the passionate patriotic movie. It’s still move me a lot.
What I find is that those people like to sacrifice themselves in order to create the better environment for their offspring. There are lots of reasons can hold them back, but they stick to fulfill this dream just because of one reason. Moreover, I see what the pure love it is. There is a carter who drugs the car for his boss everyday is just going to get married after almost two years love toward a girl. He even doesn’t know who he is going to protect for and his life will be in danger at the day he plans to get married, however, he decides to plug into the plan because he respects his boss deeply. I am sooooo sad when I find that he is dead in the end. Maybe because of this contrast plot, you can see how innocent this young man is compared to those merciless killers.
I think the director shot a good movie even though lots of plot is made up. At least, he gives us an imagination about the difficulties of revolution and catch our feelings.

Then this is the movie describe what happen next between this two young adult after 9 years. The leading male is married and publishes a book about the affair they had 9 years ago. In order to promote his book, he fled to Paris and suddenly met the leading female. Before the time he leaves, he grasped at any chance to talk with this woman in order to compensate the lost time. They ask each other their lifes after they depart and exchange their feelings toward life. In the end of the movie, the leading male decide to sit down on leading female’s couch and wish in the future they can always like that.
Reflection
Through this moive, I find that who said that two lovers would become enemy against each other after they break up. Instead, they can also cherish each other’s relationship and feel appreciated from their heart that this person really teaches something in your life no matter it is good or bad. At least, you must learn something during this relationship, so there is no need to curse others after a relationship. We can also wish each other to find a proper person during their life.
Except this, I can also see that how different react between this two gender. The male seems like to have sex with this girl, but the female prefers to talk and understand this person more before any body touch. It just likes the theory taught by my teacher that male and female are totally different animals. Their thinking and actions sometimes compensates, or contrast each other.
I really like the witness that the leading female present. First, she dares to see her ex-boyfriend again. Then, she use her wisdom to defense and offense the dialogue, and justice her right. Later, she has healthy mood to build another relationship and embrace the end of the relationship. Wish one day, I could have her courage.

Of all the stories, I like the role that Juiller Roberts act. Though she only appears in short time, she already catches audience eye. That's because of her truly talent performing gene. Except this, she only mentiones that she wants to meet an important guy during the Valentine's Day. Actually, she attends in army and has only few day-offs. What cause this woman like to spend lot of time on flying in order to meet someone in short hours? The answear appeared in the end, it's her lovely child. I really think this part is soo toching since mother is the most great role in the world.

The reason that Juilet Roberts wants to attend this movie is because of the director who let her become a famous star. After 20years, their realtionship is still goood. Ummm...this is another moving part. What it will be after 20 years?

I don’t know what it would be if I already know my life is doomed to end earlier. Actually, I believe this kind of story could truly happens in our daily life, though I never have a chance to wit it.
I really like the leading female in the movie. Not only impressed by her lovely appearance, but also her positive toward life. Originally, she has known the leading male’s disease for sooo long. Conversely, she still dares to pursue her love and support her lover by all means. One episode is that the leading male fears his leaving may cause great pain to his lover that he decides to study far away senior school in order to let the girl gets used to it since long time ago. Rather than cry or accuse, the girl studies hard in order to protect “her love.” I really think she is sooo brave!
Beside, I like their attitude toward life as everyday is the last day. Therefore, you should do your best on every thing. Compared to us, do we often miss something important in our life?

The most important thing I want to say is the leading male is soooooo handsome! Actually, he is already a superstar in Italy and has few important movies such as Under the Tuscan Sun and Facing the Windows. With these backgrounds, it’s needless to say that this movie hit the top rank when it comes out.

Actually, the reason that this kind of movie becomes sooooo popular may because everyone always wants to trust the most innocent and beauty of love, even though they may find the fantasy seldom correspond to the real life. Conversely, this is exactly the reason that allures people to come to the theater again and again. I really like Jane Augustine's story which depictse the details very specific and has smooth speed. Except that, this story is full of witty conversation and toching stories. Not only can we see how to deal with family realtionship also impressed deeply by the highly behavior that Mr. Darcy donce.

Of all the parts, I like Elizebathe's wisdom and her clear mind to do the thing she likes and she wants. Unlike her sisters, she trully find the forever happiness on her own. I think it's so touched that she needed to be taken care of since she is such a nice woman. Elizebathes is charming, wise and adorable. How lucky Mr. Darcy are!

Then , she finds that actually being a best prostitute at that time can advantage a lot. Besides, if a best prostitue really does well , she can show the most soft and beauty of women's virtue. By using her witness and beauty, she really does well at that field.

I've hearded the stories of this movie affect in China. Some of the females feel impressed deeply by La La's believe in Love. La La first makes one-night stand with her handsome manager, but later extend to a multi-trust relationship. She dares to love what she loves and hates what she hates. Most imporant of that is La La be herself so honestly!!! Thus, everyone is moved by all her emotion.
